![]() Once you've attached the end piece, then they are tied together at a set distance so there is less tilt.Īs it is now, I only have one end piece attached. The pockets into which the side pieces fit are oversized, so they will tilt either in or out. ![]() The end pieces/gates serve not only as part of the safety barrier, but they hold the side pieces a set distance apart. On the other side of the end piece, there is a pivoting latch to hold the gate closed. The end pieces/gates drop onto a piece of vertical threaded rod welded to the side piece.I think the intent is that you put a nut on there to hold the gate on positively, instead of relying on gravity. The side guards drop into pockets on the horizontal pieces and have a pin to hold them there. I hate it when I buy a tool/solution for something I've been struggling with thinking this new tool is going to make the job so much easier.and then I find a different problem I hadn't anticipated. I see they offer the platforms with a trap door, but mine doesn't have that.Īny ideas? Just modify my platform so it has a trap door? Buy the trap door platform? After this I'll be insulating/drywalling. It'd be one thing if I could climb it and work up there for an hour before getting down to get supplies or move to a different area, but right now I'm running romex, which requires moving every few minutes. Because of the safety cage side, I can't climb, and then swing myself around, nor would I really want to. As it is, I'm just trying to go through between two of the rungs. ![]() If I had the end piece/gate of the safety cage that connects the two side pieces, this would be even more difficult. I can climb the end support, but then I have to wiggle through the ladder rungs. I'm having a problem figuring out how to get onto the second level. For part of what I'm doing, i need the second set stacked on top, but not the full height. It has two sets (for stacking), the outriggers, and safety cage that goes around the top.
